    Krishna Kumar was born on 12 June in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He is the youngest son of Gopalakrishnan Nair and Retnamma. He came from a family who had served in the Indian military. Kumar was also preparing to join the military before he got an offer to work as a news presenter for Doordarshan.[1]
