With this year's April 10 meal, he expects to leave a legacy of having raised more than $1 million for such charities as the Food Bank of Delaware, the Claymont Community Center and the Ministry of Caring.
"Our focus is to go out strong," says Teixido, whose lineup includes chefs from Delaware, New Orleans, Boston and Vermont.
"It's time. I'm not embarrassed to step down after 26 years."
The Harry's Savoy Grill ballroom dinner, which includes a reception, silent auction and raffle, has long stood out in a sea of culinary charity events.
