Gaudencio V. Aquino is an educator whose career started as an public elementary school teacher in the province of Pangasinan and retired as a college professor in Manila. He graduated from the Philippine Normal School (now Philippine Normal University) and earned a Master's Degree at the University of the Philippines. He pursued a Doctor of Education Degree at the Manuel L. Quezon University. Born on December 18, 1924 in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, he started teaching at the end of World War II in his hometown. He worked his way up to become a school principal in Pangasinan. He was hired to become Dean of the Department of Normal Education of Laguna College in San Pablo City then later on, also as a Dean of the College of Education at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila where he retired in 1990. He continued teaching at the University of Pangsinan, Lyceum of the Philippines, Letran College, and at the University of Manila. He married Estelita B. Bañez on June 25, 1969. They have one son named Marvin. He has written numerous books on education, research, psychology, folklore, and health. He is presently working on his latest book.
